PREPARATORY COURSES for study IN the CZECH language
Preparatory Courses for Study in the Czech Language
The courses are aimed for foreigners interested in enrolling in the University of West Bohemia. Nowadays, we offer a preparatory course for study at the technical faculties of our University (Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering), and a preparatory course for study at the Faculty of Economics. In addition to an intensive language training in Czech, the course also encompasses subjects, which are specifically related to the chosen field of study.
***
For a tuition-free study in the Czech language at the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Faculty of Economics, knowledge of at least B2 level is required. Beginners reach this upon successful completion of a one-year course, starting from the A2 level.
The minimum level of Czech required by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is B1 (one-year course is intended for complete beginners).
After passing the final exam, graduates receive a certificate proving the attained level of knowledge of Czech.
We can arrange accommodation in UWB dormitories or in a private accommodation facility of the University’s partner company.
